In conversation Comfort Co-Host of Masters of Comedy & The Spoken Word

You are co-hosting Masters of Comedy & The Spoken Word at 02 Brixton Academy on the 16 th September 2012, how did this come about?

Emma Sirius saw me performing some months ago at FLOetic Lara’s album launch concert. She later got in touch to say that she enjoyed my performance and style of poetry and would like to invite me to co-host with FLO, a show she was putting together for September 2012.

The main element of the show is comedy, but FLOetic Lara and I will be spicing up the evening with our combined energy. The evening promises to be a unique blend of comedy and spoken word.

How many of the acts lined up for Masters of Comedy have you seen perform, prior to Masters of Comedy & The Spoken Word?

I haven’t seen very much of Leo Mohammed, one of the British comedians, live – only on TV some years ago, so I decided to do some research on him. I am not very familiar with Dick Gregory, but had heard of and read about Paul Mooney previously. Through my research, I am learning more about them so I can fully give them justice when we introduce them on the night. I have seen all of the other acts either perform live, or online, so am familiar with their works.
